Week at a Glance

Ambuehl Elementary is currently seeking three parent representatives for the 2014/15 School Site Council (SSC). The SSC committee is made up of 5 parents, 3 teachers, 1 classified staff member, and the principal, who acts as the committee chair and advisor. Ambuehl’s School Site Council serves several purposes, such as reviewing and approving the expenditure of categorical funds (such as Economic Impact Aide {EIA} money) and Ambuehl’s Single School Plan for Student Achievement.  In addition, Ambuehl’s School Site Council meetings serve as Ambuehl’s School Discipline & Safety Committee. The SSC will meet up to 4 times during the current school year.

Parents interested in serving on Ambuehl's SSC are encouraged to submit their information to the school's office by Friday, September 19. Further information can be linked below.

Thank you for your support of the students and staff of Ambuehl Elementary.

“The World Would Be A Better Place If…”

The PTA Reflections Arts Recognition Program is a national arts recognition and achievement program for students.  To get involved, students submit an original artwork piece, inspired by this year’s theme, “The world would be a better place if…”, in any of the following arts areas:  Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, & Visual Arts. For grades K-5, there are 3 divisions in which artwork will be judged.  To allow artworks to be recognized and judged with the appropriate developmental age and skill levels in mind, the Reflections Program is organized by three divisions: Primary:  Kindergarten - Grade 2, Intermediate: Grades 3-5,  & Special Artist.  A flyer is being sent home this week with more details.  All entries are due Friday, September 26, 2014. For more information and questions in english please contact Kathie Zaharson at or (949) 290-6048. For questions in spanish please contact Sandy Evans in the front office at (949) 661-0418 or email

Spirit Wear Fridays

Ambuehl students, staff, and parents are encouraged to wear their Ambuehl t-shirts and other clothing on Fridays to demonstrate their school spirit. Of course, they can wear Ambuehl items other days, too. Spirit wear can be purchased on the Ambuehl PTA website.
